Get creative these school holidays and with our Kids & Teens sewing workshop! In this full day workshop students will learn the basics of sewing and make their very own handmade drawstring bags and pencil case! 

Our teacher Beth will guide the students through sewing machine basics before getting stuck into their project! Students will get to take home their very own handmade projects at the end of the day.

This workshop includes:

• 6 hours of instructions in a small group

• All of the equipment needed to sew

• Fabric, thread, elastic and other materials to make their projects

• Fun!

All materials and equipment is provided!

Skill level & age guide:

Beginner friendly

This program is designed for kids aged between 10-16 years, however all ages are welcome!

Skills we will cover:

• Using a basic pattern and measuring

• Cutting fabric

• Sewing machine operation

• Sewing basic seams

• Adding a patch pocket

• Hemming

• And more!

What to bring:

• Snacks & Lunch

• Water bottle

• Enclosed shoes

We will have a lovely collection of fabrics that the students can choose from, this includes block colours and patterns.

About your teacher

Beth is an experienced dance teacher and has been teaching young people for over 5 years! She is also a talented sewist who loves making clothes. Beth has been part of The Sewing Collective community since our very first event!
